Mama Needs a Cosmo

A reader and dear friend of mine recently wrote to me to tell me that my blog missed me. So, I thought I would write to it to let it know why I’ve been neglecting it lately.

Dearest Blog of Mine:

I cannot express how truly sorry I am to have let you sit here all alone, collecting dust, and dropping like an anchor in the Alexa rankings. We’ve been together for nearly three years now, and you deserve better than that.

But you of all entities should know how blessed I am with family and work. And, of course, there’s that crazy new “photography-hobby-turned-business-in-less-than-two-months” thing. (Seriously. I’ve been booking nearly two clients every weekend.)

My family still continues to provide me with plenty of writing material, from flat-out funny to painfully introspective. I can’t keep all that bottled up for very long. Consider that “blog security.”

And, I’m taking tons of photos that I know I’ll be sharing when I have the time to devote my full attention to bringing you the “stories from behind the lens.”

We haven’t broken up (or you would have gotten that message via text a long time ago), nor are we even separated. We’re just . . . on hold. Or taking a break. Or whatever it is that you need to call it so you can sleep at night.

Enjoy the quiet.

Until I figure out a schedule that allows time for family, work, photography, volunteering, charity, AND blogging, it’s going to be quiet around here.

But we all know that quiet houses get loud again. I’m just not sure when that’ll be.
